Apple is reportedly stepping up its mass production of the N401 chip, most commonly seen on the Apple watch silicon—to power lightweight smart glasses featuring multiple cameras, audio, Siri integration and visual intelligence features like object recognition and real time translation. According to Bloomberg, this non AR variant is expected to launch by late 2026 or 2027, with prototypes arriving in late 2025. What interests me the most is how these glasses will be used for everyday use. Glasses that translate, recognize objects and integrate AI enabled workflow, create an incredible ecosystem experience. If this product is executed well and efficiently I believe that Apple could once again reshape consumer tech expectations by 2026.
